Rector

THE REV. SABETH FITZGIBBONS

(206) 624-5337, Ext. 230

Sabeth grew up in the Diocese of Olympia, spending her toddler and preschool years at Trinity, Seattle, and school age years at Good Shepherd, Vancouver. She moved to Seattle to attend college and has called Seattle home ever since (even when not living here).

Sabeth's higher education includes an undergraduate degree from Seattle U, a dual Masters program at Boston College in Social Work (with a community building focus) and Theology, and seminary studies at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in Berkeley, CA. She was ordained to the diaconate in June 2006, and to the priesthood in January 2007.

Sabeth's first 10 years of ordained ministry experiences were in the Boston area and Northwestern Pennsylvania. She and her family returned home to Seattle in 2016. Since returning to Seattle, Sabeth has led interim processes at two local congregations. Sabeth is trained in the Appreciative Way model of transition ministry. She currently serves on two diocesan commissions: Personnel and Liturgy & the Arts.

Her family includes her husband Julien and two middle-schoolers. Following family tradition, she and Julien were married at Trinity.

As a priest, Sabeth loves the intersection of our faith and our ‘real’ lives. Learning about ourselves and our faith, living into what we learn, seeking health in our relationships, and telling the good news as we know it - and then repeating the whole circle again - that’s the essence of living our lives of faith. Preaching, pastoring, leading worship, and even administrative tasks get Sabeth excited to be in ministry with all God’s people. When not doing ‘churchy’ things or spending time with family, Sabeth loves admiring the natural world, eating chocolate (dark is good), reading mindless mysteries, knitting, cooking and eating good food.
