Director of Liturgical Music & Performing Arts

SR. JO BAIM

(206) 624-5337, Ext. 260

Sr. Jo Baim, a native of Walla Walla, has been at Trinity Parish since 1993, and on the music staff since 1995. She earned degrees in organ performance from Walla Walla College and the University of Oregon, and a doctorate in musicology from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music. Her dissertation on the history of the tango was published by Indiana University Press. Sr. Jo is a vowed Anchorite (solitary) in the Episcopal Church, and an Oblate of St. Gertrude’s Benedictine Monastery in Cottonwood, Idaho. She is the Artistic Director of the Trinity Consort, and oversees the concert program at Trinity Parish. She is always interested in ways to combine music and spirituality—most recently she has taken up drumming, and hopes to practice diligently without unduly annoying her colleagues. Sr. Jo enjoys bringing a variety of instrumentalists to participate in worship services, particularly in combination with the choir.
