CHILDREN AND

FAMILIES

SENIORS

Trinity Parish is home to many seniors, many of them living in retirement communities in the downtown Seattle area, including Skyline, Horizon House, and Mirabella. Trinity participates in regular Eucharistic ministry in each of these communities, and conducts a weekly Bible study group at Skyline. Seniors at Trinity are engaged in a variety of ministries, including our monthly Community Suppers, the Friday morning Bible study group, the Sunday Forum, and yes, even our ministry to children and families!

THE FORUM

The Forum takes place on Sundays at 9:15 am, between our two services. It is an opportunity to hear and learn from speakers on a wide variety of topics, both theological, social, spiritual, historic, and topics of general interest. You can find the current Forum schedule here.

Fellowship happens in many ways at Trinity, but chiefly at our Sunday Coffee Hour following each service. After the 8 am service we gather around tables for fellowship and sharing of coffee or tea and some light refreshments. Following the 10:30 service different groups in the parish offer up a more robust spread -- at times virtually a full meal! Coffee Hour is a wonderful opportunity to engage in multi-generational interaction and relationship-building in the congregation. We also welcome friends from the neighborhood who stop in for food and fellowship with us.

BIBLE STUDY

Wednesday Bible Study (at Skyline) - Residents of Skyline Retirement Community, whether members of Trinity or not, gather for Bible Study led by Jeff Gill each Wednesday morning at 10:30 in The Sanctuary on the fourth floor.

Friday Bible Study - Join us on Fridays at 10:30am in the parish Library for Bible Study. We focus on the assigned lectionary readings for the upcoming Sunday, which provides great preparation for Sunday worship!

GLOBAL OUTREACH

Trinity supports global mission work through a variety of means, including The Good Friday Offering supporting the work of the Episcopal Church of the Diocese of Jerusalem and the Middle East, payments to the Carbon Offset Cooperative Mission partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of the Southern Philippines, support for Episcopal Relief and Development, and occasional targeted appeals for specific needs.

WHEEL

Trinity Parish hosts an overnight shelter for women run by WHEEL -- the Women's Housing Equality and Enhancement League. 40-70 women sleep each night in our lower parish hall. On the third Thursday of each month we host a Community Supper for the women of WHEEL together with Trinity parishioners and members of the neighborhood community, including residents of Skyline and Horizon House.

THRIFT SHOP

Trinity Thrift Shop Trinity Thrift Shop is one of Trinity's signature outreach ministries in our neighborhood. It provides donated items of clothing, household, personal and kitchen items to members of the community at a low cost, or no-cost through our voucher program. We cannot accept furniture and electronic items because of lack of space. Some of our shoppers are homeless or just moving into an apartment. We are always in need of men's clothing, underwear and socks. Linens, kitchen items and household items are also always appreciated. You may bring

donations to the Thrift Shop or Parish Office when they are open. Trinity parishioners donate hundreds of hours each year at the Thrift Shop, located just north of the church. Established during the Depression, it has been a joint ministry with Seattle First Baptist Church since the 1980s. The Thrift Shop offers a wide array of clothing, household effects, and other items. For more information about the Thrift Shop, contact Grita Pollock, manager. The Thrift Shop is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Please note the revised hours; previously, the Thrift Shop had been open until 3:00 p.m.) Address: 615 8th Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104 Phone: (206) 264-1698. Thank you for your donations for our neighbors in need.

ASSET MANAGEMENT

Trinity's endowment is overseen by a committee of parishioners who meet regularly to discuss investment goals and strategy, and review earnings through our two primary investment managers, the Diocesan Investment Trust, and Garde Capital.
